Recipes

Put BACO on everything, they said. Here's where to start. Every recipe takes 10 minutes or less, and you can swap in hotAF anywhere you want it hotter.

5-minute BACO noodles

Serves 1. Uses BACO.

  • 1 portion noodles (instant, egg or fresh)
  • 1–2 tbsp BACO
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp black or rice vinegar
  • Spring onion, sliced
  • Optional: a fried egg on top
  1. Cook the noodles and drain, keeping a splash of the cooking water.
  2. In a bowl, mix BACO, soy sauce and vinegar.
  3. Toss the noodles through with a little cooking water until glossy. Top with spring onion (and that egg).

Crispy chilli oil fried eggs

Serves 1. Uses BACO or hotAF.

  • 1 tbsp BACO or hotAF
  • 2 eggs
  • Spring onion and a pinch of salt
  1. Heat the chilli oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Crack in the eggs and spoon the hot oil over the whites as they cook, until the edges are crispy.
  3. Serve on rice or toast, topped with spring onion.

Dumpling dipping sauce

Makes one small bowl. Uses BACO.

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp black vinegar
  • 1 tbsp BACO
  • A pinch of sugar
  1. Stir everything together. That's it. Dumplings optional, but recommended.

hotAF chilli mayo

Makes about ¼ cup. Uses hotAF.

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp hotAF (or BACO for a milder version)
  • A squeeze of lime
  1. Mix together. Use on fries, burgers, banh mi, fried chicken or anything that needs a dip.

Chilli oil pizza drizzle

Uses BACO or hotAF.

  1. Bake or reheat your pizza as usual.
  2. Spoon chilli oil over the top straight out of the oven so the crispy bits stay crunchy. A drizzle of honey on top takes it somewhere special.

Spice up the bowl, not the pot

Uses Red Hot Chilli Drops.

Cooking pho, soup, pasta or curry for people who don't like heat? Cook it mild, then add a few drops of Red Hot Chilli Drops to your own bowl. All the heat, none of the arguments.
